• Scaffold Safety

Each year, 4,500 workers are injured and 50 workers are killed because of loose scaffolding. But with this instructive online course, your employees can fortify their know-how of this equipment and enhance safety awareness. This course covers the basics of scaffold safety, including scaffold hazard recognition, types of scaffolding dangers, proper scaffolding use and accident prevention.

    Scaffold User Training

Falling from height is the most common reason for accidents and death in the construction industry.  Knowing how to work safely on scaffolds is a big part of protecting yourself from injury or death.  Labor Statistics study shows, 72% of workers injured in scaffold accidents attributed the accident either to the planking or support giving way, or to the employee slipping or being struck by a falling object.  All of these can be controlled by compliance with the scaffolding standard, outlined in this course.  If you work, or are going to be working, in or around scaffolds and at height, then this scaffold user course will provide you with the information needed to work safely on them.

This Scaffold Safety Course will teach you appropriate scaffold construction methods which include: erecting, moving or altering scaffolds properly, and protecting from falling objects or tools.  The course includes information ensuring stable access on scaffolds and the hazards involved with scaffolds.  Inspection and fall protection are also discussed.

This comprehensive Scaffold User Training program covers:

    • Recognizing scaffold hazards
    • Scaffold construction
    • Worker safety
    • Maintenance
    • Real-Life Situation
    • Pre-shift inspection
    • Safe work practices

    Scaffold Competent Person

This Scaffolding Competent Person Course covers all of the important training that a competent person in this potentially dangerous area of work needs to have.

In 2010 alone, a Labor Statistics study showed, 7,068 scaffolding violations in job sites across America with 38 workers dying in scaffold related incidents.  This makes Scaffolding the second-most cited violation behind Fall Protection, and shows the need for proper safety training in this area of work.

A competent person is a necessity on every job site and is someone who has sufficient experience and/or knowledge to recognize scaffold hazards, correct unsafe conditions, and who has the ability to shut down the worksite until any hazards are corrected. The competent person should be the most knowledgeable person, in this case about scaffold safety, on site.

This Scaffolding Competent Person course ensures that a student will receive all of the proper training pursuant to the standard requirements of Competent Persons for Scaffolding. This course will go beyond the basic awareness Scaffold User level of introductory courses and into details necessary when learning not just how to protect yourself, but what it takes to create a safe working environment for those you may be responsible for.
